On Sunday, 17 December, in conjunction with Peter Godwin leading a rousing and much-increased band of carol singers along Fishpool Street, we again did a collection for the St Albans and District Food Bank.
All in all, Fishpool residents managed to fill five large crates with their generous contributions of non-perishable foodstuff.
We also raised £200 in cash, which Gordon Baisley donated via the food bank’s website, thus adding £50 in Gift Aid.
The singers were delighted to be invited into St Michael’s Manor for mulled wine and mince pies (pictured above), before finishing the evening at The Lower Red Lion.
Everyone involved should feel a warm Christmassy glow for their efforts!
